Clinical Hypnosis for Chronic Pain Management
(Online Support UK & Worldwide)
Living with chronic pain can affect far more than your physical body.
It can feel like your attention is constantly drawn to discomfort, shaping how you plan your day, how you move, and how much mental space the experience takes up. Over time, chronic pain can become emotionally exhausting, especially when symptoms feel unpredictable or difficult to manage. I offer online clinical hypnosis for chronic pain management, available worldwide, designed to help you develop a calmer, less reactive relationship with your experience of pain and your nervous system. This is a complementary approach and does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment.
MY PERSONAL CONNECTION TO THIS WORK
My interest in this field developed through seeing how deeply stress, illness, and emotional strain can affect both the mind and body. When cancer entered my family, I saw firsthand what it is like to watch someone you love go through fear, pain, and uncertainty, and to feel powerless in the face of it. That experience shaped my understanding of how emotional well-being, nervous system stress, and physical experience are deeply connected. It led me to specialise in supporting people who feel stuck in long-term cycles of stress, overwhelm, or physical discomfort.
IF THIS FEELS FAMILIAR
You might recognise:
- constantly scanning your body for symptoms (chronic pain hypervigilance)
- feeling mentally stuck on discomfort or sensation
- planning your day around pain levels
- difficulty relaxing or switching off (nervous system dysregulation symptoms)
- frustration with unpredictable symptoms
- emotional exhaustion from long-term pain
It can often feel like your system is staying in a heightened state of alert, even when nothing immediate is happening.
THE MIND–BODY EXPERIENCE OF CHRONIC PAIN
Chronic pain is influenced not only by physical factors, but also by how the nervous system responds to stress, fear, and prolonged activation. When the nervous system remains in a protective state for long periods, sensitivity can increase, and pain signals may feel more intense. This is a real physiological process linked to nervous system sensitisation, not imagination. Clinical hypnosis for chronic pain supports the system in moving out of this heightened state, allowing for greater regulation, calm, and internal safety.

HOW CLINICAL HYPNOSIS HELPS CHRONIC PAIN
Clinical hypnosis for chronic pain works with how the brain processes sensory input, attention, and stress responses. While it does not treat or remove medical conditions, it can support the way chronic pain is experienced and processed.
It can help reduce:
- stress-related amplification of pain (stress and chronic pain connection)
- nervous system overactivation
- emotional tension linked to long-term pain
- pain-related hyperfocus
- reactive pain responses
It can support:
- improved nervous system regulation
- calmer perception of sensations
- increased coping capacity
- reduced emotional distress linked to pain
When the nervous system is less reactive, many people find that chronic pain feels less overwhelming and less central in daily life.
HOW I WORK
My approach combines Clinical Hypnosis and RTT® with mind–body techniques to support emotional regulation and reduce stress-related amplification of pain. We focus on how subconscious patterns and stress responses can keep the body in cycles of tension, reactivity, and heightened awareness. We begin with what is most present for you physically and emotionally, then work in a structured, hypnosis-based way tailored to your needs. Sessions are calm, structured, and paced according to what feels manageable for you. My interest in mind–body approaches to chronic pain management developed through personal experience of seeing how illness and pain affect both physical well-being and emotional life. This led me to specialise further in supporting clients with chronic pain and medically complex conditions.
